Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce an easy-to-see picture by permitting a color image pickup device to operate as a normal one when a body whose image is to be picked up is bright, and removing an infrared cut filter when dark to function as a monochrome image pickup device. CONSTITUTION:When a body whose image is to be picked up is bright, the output of an image pickup tube is processed by video amplification 6, and a process circuit 7 performs correction, color separation, etc. A separated signal is supplied to a matrix circuit 8 to generate a color difference signal, which is outputted through a color encoder circuit 9 and a discoloring circuit 10. Then, a luminance signal is added to a color signal to output a color TV signal. When said body is dark, the output of an illuminance detector 13 drops, and a comparing circuit 14b detects its state. With the color signal of the circuit 14b, the circuit 10 operate and while the transmission of the color signal from the circuit 9 is stopped, an infrared cut filter 3 is put off an optical path, thereby outputting a monochrome TV signal by the luminance signal (a) from the circuit 7.
