Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the damage of packing in an ozone adsorbing and desorbing tower due to water flowing backward by continuously working an ejector until the pressure of the tower raised by feeding oxygen exceeds the pressure of the down stream side of a water pipe system after finishing desorption in the tower.
CONSTITUTION: Oxygen fed from a feeding source 4 is ozonized with an ozonizer 1, and the ozone is stored by adsorption on packing in an adsorbing and desorbing tower 2 cooled with a refrigerator 9. The unreacted oxygen is circulated to the ozonizer 1 with a blower 4. The stored ozone is intermittently fed to a water pipe system by suction with an ejector 10. At this time, the feed of oxygen is stopped, the ozonizer 1 and the refrigerator 9 are stopped, and brine in a warm brine tank 6 is circulated to the tower 2 with a pump 8 to allow the ozone adsorbed on the packing to be desorbed by heating. After finishing the desorption, oxygen is fed again, and the ejector 10 is continuously worked until the fact that the pressure of the tower 2 exceeds the pressure of the water pipe system is confirmed with a controller 12.
