Abstract

PURPOSE: To regenerate ion exchange resins of which the activity is degraded by adsorbed materials easily by treating said resins with a dissolving agent for the adsorbed materials after or simultaneously with swelling.
CONSTITUTION: In the stage of regenerating ion exchange resins of which the activity is degraded by adsorbed materials after they are used as cationic catalysts for low polymn. of olefins of isobutyrene, etc., first the ion exchange resins are swollen with a resin swelling agent such as dehydrated metahanol or simultaneously with this swelling, they are treated with a dissolving agent such as benzene, in the case of adsorbed materials such as high polymers of olefins. Then, the adsorbed materials are swollen and dissolved, and the ion exchange resins are regenerated.
