Abstract

PURPOSE: To regenerate catalytic activity by simple treating operation by a method wherein a poisoned catalyst with a honeycomb structure of which catalytic activity is lowered is subjected to heat treatment at a specific temp. for a definite time or more and, thereafter, a catalyst substance is supported on the resultant carrier.
CONSTITUTION: A poisoned catalyst of which catalytic activity is lowered by using a catalyst for removing nitrogen oxide comprising a honeycomb structure for a long time is subjected to heat treatment in a temp. range of 1,150W1,450°C for 10min or more and, thereafter, a catalyst substance such as titanium, tungsten or the like is supported on the resultant carrier. As described above, by simple treating operation, the poisoned catalyst is recovered as a catalyst carrier and the catalyst substance is supported on said recovered carrier to regenerated said poisoned catalyst to a catalyst having high denitrating characteristics.
