Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently treat exhaust gas by taking out catalyst the activity of which has been lowered owing to salt deposition; regenerating the catalyst with heating; and selectively absorbing SOx in gas scattered from the catalyst surface to recycle NH3.
CONSTITUTION: After adding a predetermined amt. of ammonia 2, exhaust gas 1 contacts with denitration catalyst 4 based on TiO2 and/or SnO2 at 150W330°C in denitration tower 3 to reduce NOx to N2 and H2O. At this time, SO3 out of SOx contained in gas 1 reacts with NH3 to form (NH4)2SO4, which is deposited on catalyst 4, lowering the catalytic activity. So, part of catalyst 4 is taken out and fed to regeneration tower 5, where hot gas 6 of 350W600°C is passed to evaporate the (NH4)2SO4, thus regenerating the catalyst. The hot gas contg. NH3 and SOx is fed to SOx removal tower 7, where the SO3 alone is absorbed with SO3 absorbent 8, and the NH3-contg. gas is added to untreated exhaust gas 1 and reused.
