PURPOSE: To efficiently regenerate a transition metal catalyst supported on alumina for reducing NOx which has been poisoned with SOx by heat treating the catalyst in a mixed gas atmosphere such as hydrogen, CO or ammonia and nitrogne gas at a specified temp.
