Abstract

PURPOSE:To recover the developer without using a sucking fan and a filter and at the same time to prevent the splash of the developer, by providing a recovering rotor which has a contact with a cleaning rotor having the hair matter and applying the bias voltage to recover the developer. CONSTITUTION:The untransferred developer which is not transferred by a transferred by a transfer device and residual on a photoreceptor layer 4 is destaticized and rubbed to a hair matter 27 on a cleaning brush roller 24 of a cleaning device 10. In this case the hair matter 27 is charged since the bias voltage is applied to the roller 24 from a DC power supply 31. Thus the untransferred developer is adsorbed and held at the matter 27 by the electrostatic sucking force. A bias voltage is applied via a charger 32 to the outer circumference surface of a recovering roller 28 which turns with a contact to the roller 24. As a result, the developer held at the matter 27 is adsorbed to the roller 28 and then recover to a container 38 by a blade 37. Thus the splash of the developer can be prevented.
