Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the super position of display patterns with high accuracy, by forming the pattern electrodes of an equal form to each other and the mark electrodes for superposition of the pattern electrodes to a pair of upper and lower substrates, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The pattern electrodes 4 formed by the same transparent conductive film and mark electrodes 8 and 9 are formed on the inner surfaces of a pair of upper and lower glass substates 1 and 2. In addition, lead terminals 10 and 11 are connected to the electrodes 8 and 9. Thus the turn-on voltage is applied to the electrodes 5 and 6 through the terminals 10 and 11, and the marks 5 and 6 for superposition are turned on for display when the upper substrate 1 is superposed on the lower substrate 2. The accuracy of superposition is inspected for a display pattern by checking visually the shift between the marks 5 and 6. In such way, the superposition of display patterns is facilitated with high accuracy.
