Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of recording of a magetic fluid recorder by such as arrangement wherein a needle electrode and an auxiliary electrode are arranged in the form of cross-stitch and ink at the end of the recording needle electrode is properly bulged so that ink particles are caused to easily fly out by applying a voltage between the needle electrode and the auxiliary electrode. CONSTITUTION:When a voltage is impressed between a needle electrode 2 and an auxiliary electrode 16, they become a condenser and form an electric field. The electric field becomes strongest in the area within broken lines 18 and static suction force from both electrodes acts on a magnetic fluid 4 which is an electroconductive substance so that its surface comes to broken lines 18. As to the portion of bulge, the portion of a mountain is strong in supporting power by magnetic force, while the portion of a valley is very weak in supporting power comparing with the portion of the mountain. Because of this, the magnetic fluid 4 at the portion of valley is moved by said static suction force and as a result of this, the radius of the bulge at its end becomes smaller and its height becomes higher. By this arrangement, the bulge of the magnetic fluid after a voltage is impressed becomes such a shape of bulge which is easy to fly out as shown in Fig. (a) comparing with that before a voltage is impressed as shown in Fig. (b).
