Abstract
933,762. Magnetic structures. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 3, 1959 [Dec. 4, 1958], No. 39110/58. Class 38 (2). In a method of manufacturing a magnetic tape similar to that disclosed in Specification 789,613 the anistropic magnetic particles are oriented at least partially transversely to the length of the tape by a magnetic pole disposed obliquely to the tape. The forward end of the magnetic pole extends beyond the tape at 3 to avoid a fringing field at the edge of the tape. The tape may travel on an aluminium support above the magnetic pole.
