Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure a short input pulse duration without imparing the measuring function at the conventional event arising point, by providing to storage parts to store the rise-up time and breaking time of the signal of an input terminal respectively. CONSTITUTION:A register 21 uses the signal IN supplied from an input terminal 21 for the load signal and latches the contents CTR of a counter 1 at the rise- up time point of the load signal. A register 22 uses the signal IN inverted by an inverter 22 for the load signal and latches the contents CTR of the counter 1 at the breaking point of the load time. Buffers 41 and 42 deliver the contents ASR1 and ASR2 to a data bus when read control signals RD11 and RD12 are at a high level. When an interruption request INT is delivered to a CPU5 from an output terminal of the inverter 22, the CPU5 reads the contents ASR1 and ASR2 of the registers 21 and 22 and calculates the value of these contents to decide the pulse duration of the input IN.
