Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably manufacture sheets having a uniform thickness, by controlling the furnace pressure so that amorphous metals reach a prescribed thickness on the basis of the variation of molten metal head in the furnace when sheets are manufactured with rotary drum.
CONSTITUTION: A molten metal 2 is charged onto a rotary drum 9 from the nozzle 3 of furnace 1 and a sheet having thickness (h) is manufactured. The thickness (h) is detected by a thickness detector 16 and the circumferential speed of drum 9 is detected by a speed detector 16. Both detected values are multiplied by an operator 17. The difference between the initial value Qo of molten metal 2 in the furnace 1 and the integral value of outflow rate Q during manufacturing is obtained by an operator 18. The head of molten metal H is obtained by dividing the metallic amount R of molten metal contained in the furnace with the effective cross sectional area of furnace 1 by a divider 19 throug using the operation results obtained by operators 17 and 18. The difference ΔH between the head H and the initial heat value Ho is obtained by a subtractor 20, and the furnace pressure P is controlled by a furnace pressure controlling device 8 via a screw 6, arm 5 and air cylinder 4 through driving a motor 7 so that a prescribed charging amount is obtained.
