Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a metallic foil of constant width and thickness by relatively controlling the weight of the molten metal in a crucible and the pressure in the crucible in producing the metallic foil by ejecting the molten metal in the crucible from a nozzle and quenching the same with a revolving roll.
CONSTITUTION: In producing a thin metallic foil by ejecting the molten metal 3 in a crucible 2 from a nozzle onto a rapidly revolving roll and quickly cooling the same, the weight of the molten metal 3 in the crucible 2 and the weight of the crucible 2 are measured with a load converter 5, and after these are converted to voltages with a dynamic strain gage 6, they are subtracted of the voltage corresponding to the weight of the crucible 7 by an operator 7, and the voltage corresponding to the pressure ρh is calculated and is introduced into an adder 8.
