Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove a heat quantity including an internally generating heat energy when cooling a rolled material to a desired coiling temperature, and to improve the quality of the rolled material, by previously measuring the internally generating heat energy at neighborhood of transformation points of the rolled material for every kind of metal.
CONSTITUTION: The temperature of a rolled material 9 running out of a finishing mill 1 is measured by a thermometer 7, and also, the rolling speed is measured by a speed detector 10. Then, by using the result of these measurements, a coiling temperature controller 11 resolves a heat transmission equation, and outputs a cooling command along a cooling curve to water cooling apparatuses 5, 6. Hereupon, the arithmetic control is practiced by adding the internally generating heat energy at neighborhood of transformation points A, B of the rolled material 9 previously measured for every kind of metal, so that the temperature difference TC'-TC can be compensated and a desirable cooling characteristic curve (a) is realized; hereby, the rolled material 9 is cooled to the desired coiling temperature Tc.
