Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately attain a predetermined amt. of molten metal adhered in continuous type hot dipping by regulating a wiping amt. to a range satisfying predetermined equations when the molten metal amt. is controlled by wiping with a compressed gas. CONSTITUTION:When steel strip 2 is pulled from molten zinc bath 1 or the like and wiped with a gas from nozzles 3, the wiping amt. is controlled under conditions which regulate PSI and phi calculated from PSI=l/V and phi=P/dT to PSI=0.005-0.05 and phi=0.001-0.13. In the equations, l; slit gap (mm) of each wiping nozzle, V; hot dipping speed (m/min), P; wiping gas press. (g/cm<2>G), d; distrance (mm) between nozzles, and T; wiping gas temp. ( deg.K).
