Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the even roll friction of the roll shaft direction and at the same time to increase the quality of the rolled plates, by providing two pairs of shaft boxes having flanges at both sides of each the shaft part of upper and lower working rolls respectively and setting the roll balance hydraulic pistons and the roll bending hydraulic pistons separately to the cylinder block. CONSTITUTION:Roll supporting shaft boxes 5 and 6, and roll bending shaft boxes 7 and 8 having flanges 9, 11, 10 and 12 are provided at the shaft parts of upper and lower working rolls 1 and 2 respectively. Roll balance hydraulic pistons 18 and 19 and roll bending hydraulic pistons 7 and 8 are set separately to cylinder blocks 16 and 17 provided to a housing 13 to ensure the shift of the rolls 1 and 2 in the axial line. These pistons are abutted to the flanges 9, 11, 10 and 12 of the boxes 5, 6, 7 and 8 respectively. Furthermore the boxes 5 and 6 are linked with clamping mechanisms 5a and 6a which accept the thrust.
