Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively use of an edger mill for manufacture of H-shape steels by separately installing a universal mill and an edger mill and connecting them during rolling and providing the edger mill with shifting means in the line direction and in the direction orthogonal to the line. CONSTITUTION:A housing 2b of an edger mill 2 and a housing 1b of a universal mill 1 are separately installed and both the housings 2b, 1b are connected with each other during rolling by a connection means such as a hydraulic cylinder. The edger mill 2 is provided with through guides 3 positioning to sandwich the web of a rolled stock and being capable of changing their width. A carriage 5 supporting the edger mill 2 is connected with the acting end of a hydraulic cylinder 6 to construct a 2nd shifting means and to slide the edger mill 2 in the direction orthogonal to the rolling pass line. The acting end of a hydraulic cylinder 7 put on the carriage 5 is connected with the edger mill 2 to construct a 1st shifting means and to shift the mill 2 in the rolling pass line direction. Thus, the necessary number of edger mills 2 is minimized.
