Abstract
PURPOSE: To make a rolling mill for steel shapes possible to roll a product in dissimilar size with the same rolling roll and also to obtain a rolled product in the same size as the former one with the same rolling roll after regrinding for repairing its abraded roll caliber, by providing each of rolling rolls with a single flange on one side.
CONSTITUTION: Each of two rolling rolls 1 is provided with a single flange 2, and these two rolling rolls 1 are arranged so as to make their flanges 2 face to each other on the opposite side interposing a material 4 to be rolled. When a product of a dissimilar size, especially in the direction X, is to be rolled, two rolls 1 are shifted in the direction X and oppositely in order to set the flanges 2 in a required distance. When the roll caliber is abraded, the roll 1 is reground to shave off an amount equivalent to the amount of abrasion; thereafter, the rolls 1 are shifted in the direction X and oppositely. If said rolls 1 are similarly shifted in the direction Y, a product in the same size as the former one can be rolled.
