Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce or prevent the generation of a stripe pattern due to light interference even when a photoconductor layer is exposed to interferential monochromatic light in a laser beam printer, by providing a light-absorptive layer on the substrate surface of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:In a laser beam printer, laser light interferes in a photoconductive layer because it is interferential monochromatic light to form a stripe pattern of light, which is superposed upon a charge latent image as well, so that a developed image has the stripe pattern. The generation of this interference stripe pattern is influenced most by reflected light on the surface of a substrate 9. On the surface of the substrate 9, a base layer 18 which absorbs light is provided to prevent light transmitted through a photoconductor layer 17 from being reflected by the surface of the substrate 9. For example, the base layer 19 is formed on the surface of the Al substrate 9 by a black ''Alumite '' treatement (formation of a surface film of aluminum oxide). The surface of the substrate 9 is coated with a mixture of carbon, coloring pigment, and dye with resin, or vapor-deposited with organic pigment metal.
