Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the fatigue of a photoconductor by using a light with wavelength to reach the inside of a photoconductive layer for the formation of a latent image, and a light with such wavelength that only the surface part senses it for the erasure of a residual image. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductor drum 1 which rotates is charged by a charger 2 and exposure is performed with a scanning laser 3; and a formed charged latent image is developed by a developing device 4 with toner, and a colored toner image is transferred to a recording form 5 by a transfer charger 6 and then fixed. After the transfer, the drum 1 is erased by a lamp 7 then residual toner is cleaned by a cleaner 8, and forms an image again; light 13 with long wave-length (600-900mm.) is used for the formation of a charged latent image, and blue - green light with 400-600mm. wavelength is used as erasing light 14. Consequently, the charged latent image is formed by sensitization in the photoconductor and then erased on the surface, thereby preventing its fatigue due to the repetitive charging of a charge carrying layer 12.
