Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce stable and good images at high speeds without causing light fatigue over a long period of time by repeating uniform exposure and charging more than plural times to a photoreceptor having a photoconductive layer dispersed with a CdS type photoconductive material then performing copying continuously. CONSTITUTION:The laser light from a semiconductor laser 1 modulated by an image signal is condensed by a condensing optical system 2, and is swept in the longitudinal direction of a photosensitive drum by a rotary polyhedral mirror 3. After the sweeping speed is carrected and the image is formed by an f.theta lens system 4, the image is projected via a reflection mirror 5 onto a photoreceptor drum 6 having a photoconductive layer consisting of a CdS type photoconductive material and a metallic activating agent in a binder resin. After the drum 6 is subjected to repetition of uniform exposure and charging more than plural times by a previous history imparting device 14 consisting of a light eraser 7 and a corona charger 8 provided around said drum, the image is developed with a developing device 9 and is transferred to the transfer paper supplied from a cassette 12 in a charger 10 for transfer. The transfer paper is discharged through a fixing device 13, and the image of the drum 6 is erased by a cleaner 11.
