Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable use of a light weight small-sized high frequency transformer by connecting a step-down transformer to the next stage of a high speed switch and connecting the secondary side of the transformer through a rectifying circuit to a bridge circuit for an inverter. CONSTITUTION:A high speed switch 2 connected to a high voltage DC power source 1 is controlled to switch ON or OFF at the prescribed time interval, and the low AC voltages lowered at the prescribed transformation ratio is outputted at the secondary side of the step-down transformer 11. The AC voltage is applied through rectifying circuits 16-1, 16-2 as low DC voltage to a bridge circuit 7 for an inverter, and low voltage low frequency AC voltage is thus obtaned at a load 9 via the inverter circuit 7. Thus, the transformer 11 can be constructed with light weight and small size, and the entire inverter can be reduced in size.
