Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the work of the battery installation by enabling two parallel-placed cylindrical batteries to be replaced by a single battery by installing an elliptical spiral electrode body into an elliptical exterior case. CONSTITUTION:A negative current collecting net 12' exposed from one end of a negative lithium plate 12 is welded and fixed to a plate-like metal core 11. Next, a separator 13 and a positive manganese-dioxide plate 14 are stacked over the negative plate 12 in that order, and the stacked body is rolled around the metal core 11 so as to make an elliptical spiral electrode group 10. After that, the elliptical spiral electrode group 10 is installed into an exterior case 1 which is made of a stainless steel, has an elliptical cross section, and the inner bottom surface of which is provided with an insulating sheet 2.
