Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance and the mechanical strength of container for nonaqueous electrolyte cell, by employing non-magnetic stainless steel containing specific amount of nickel and chrome. CONSTITUTION:Tubular positive electrode 2 mainly composed of manganese deoxide is contained in the cell container 1, then the negative electrode 3 composed of light metal such as lithium, sodium is provided at the center of said positive electrode 2 through a separator 5. Current collecting rod 4 of said negative electrode 3 is provided while penetrating the insulation encapsulator 6 to form a nonaqueous electrolyte cell. Non-magnetic stainless steel containing 14-15wt% of nickel and 15-16wt% of chrome is employed as the container of said cell.
