CONSTITUTION: A microorganism in Brevibacterium, requiring acetic acid and producing L-citrulline, is aerobically cultured in a liquid medium containing aliphatic alcohol or fatty acid and saccharide as carbon sources and the L-citrulline accumulated in the culture medium is collected. The mutant is, e.g., Brevibacterium flavum AJ-11677, which is derived from the parent strain, Brevibacterium flavum AJ-3408.
