Abstract

PURPOSE: A microorganism belonging to Bacillus is cultured in a liquid culture medium containing the hydrolyzate of a microorganism capable of producing amino acids with a mineral acid to produce said purine nucleoside.
CONSTITUTION: A microorganism that belongs to Corynebacterium or Brevibacterium and can produce amino acids, e.g., Brevibacterium flavum ATCC14067 or Corynebacterium acetoacidiphilum ATCC21476, is hydrolyzed with a mineral acid, e.g., hydrochloric or sulfuric acid. Another microorganism that belongs to Bacillus and can produce purine nucleoside, e.g., Bacillus subtilis AJ11043 (FERM-P3587), is inoculated in the medium containing the resultant hydrolyzate by 60W180mg/dl as the nitrogen source and cultured to form purine nucleoside, which is collected.
