Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a job efficient, by controlling an optical reader from an external control device, detecting the reading completion mark provided at the final end part of read data on reading medium, and stopping the reading operation. CONSTITUTION:A medium read with a reader OMR is attached with a recognition mark of reading area in advance and the mark is informed to an external controller IOC. The IOC transmits the completion mark via an interface ITF-R and an end detection circuit EMD receives the mark for storage. Next, the IOC transmits reading start signal RSS to the OMR via the ITF-R. The OMR starts the reading operation, stores the result in a sequential register circuit RG, and the EMD checks the presence/absence of the end mark. When the end mark is detected, a reading operation stop signal RST is transmitted to a control circuit CTL and the reading end signal END is transmitted to an interface ITF-T. The ITF-T transmits the reading data of the register circuit RG to the IOC in a short time to shorten the reading time.
