Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a signal corresponding to a difference in voltage between the normal state and the high voltage down state by a device wherein an amplifier for the signal detecting the down in high voltage applied to deflecting electrodes is provided with a transmission delay circuit, and the amplifier issuing output corresponding to the difference between output voltages from a delay circuit and the former amplifier is connected thereto. CONSTITUTION:Voltage across a resistor 25 through which the primary current of a high voltage source 1 passes is amplified by an amplifier 26. When there occurs a high voltage down at time t1, voltage at point (a) varies from V5 to V4 as shown by A. At point (b), voltage V7 varies slowly of V6 under the charging action due to a resistor R10 and a capacitor C1, as shown by B. With resistance values R11 and R13 having the relationship of R11=R13, an amplifier 30 issues output in the inverted form of variation at the point (a), as shown by C. Then, this variation output is fed to a comparator 28 and reference input -V8 is set about -V9/2, so that voltage at the point (a) becomes to have a high level only for a period from t1 to t2, as shown by D. Since only a difference in the primary current of the high voltage source 1 between the normal state and the high voltage down state of a deflecting electrode 3, such difference will not subject to substantial variations even under variations in absolute value of the detected voltage. As a result, a high voltage down can be detected positively.
