Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a corrosion resistant material made of Cr-Ni stainless steel having superior cavitation erosion resistance, contg. a prescribed percentage each of N, Si, Cr, Ni and Mn, not contg. ferrite phase in the matrix, and contg. ε-phase or austenite phase in the matrix.
CONSTITUTION: This corrosion resistant material consists of, by wt., 0.02W0.3% N, ≤2% Si, 10W20% Cr, 0.5W10% Ni, 2W20% Mn and the balance essentially Fe. This corrosion resistant material made of Cr-Ni stainless steel does not practically contain ferrite phase and contains ε-phase or austenite phase as essential conditions. This corrosion resistant material is suitable for use as a material for the runners of a water turbine for hydroelectric power generation, propellers for a ship, various pumps, etc. requiring cavitation erosion resistance.
