Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a martensite stainless cast steel with cavitation erosion resistance by adding a specified amount each of C, N, Si, Mn, Ni and Cr to Fe or further adding a specified amount of Mo.
CONSTITUTION: The composition of a cast steel is composed of, by wt., <0.1% C, 0.02W0.2% N, <1% Si, 2W9% Mn, 0.5W8% Ni, 11W14% Cr and the balance Fe. To the composition may be added <2% Mo or further added one or more among 0.01W0.1% Nb, 0.1W0.5% Cu and 0.05W0.2% V. This stainless steel is used as a material for apparatus for hydroelectric power generation such as runners, guide vanes, etc. of a water turbine requiring cavitation erosion resistance.
