Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively make dusts discharged from a melting furnace harmless, by pushing the dusts, colleceted by a dust collector into slag in the melting furnace, melting the dusts in the furnace, and cooling and solidifying the slag. CONSTITUTION:Solid waste 1 is fed to a combustion zone 13 by a supplier 12, where combustibles in the solid waste are burnt, while incombustibles are heated and melted by a burner 17. The formed slag melt 2 is temporarily reserved in a slag bed 14, flows from a slag overflow part 15 into a cooling water vessel 18, and is discharged by a conveyer 19. On the other hand, combustion gas from the burner 17 is mixed with the combustion gas of the combustibles in the solid waste, discharged through an upper opening in the combustion zone 13, and cooled by an air preheater 20. Accompanying dusts are collected by a dust collector 21. The collected dusts 3 are fed to a dust hopper 22 by a carrier 23, and intermittently pushed into the slag melt 2 by a pusher. The dusts are melted in the slag melt 2, discharged into the cooling water vessel 18 as aforementioned, and then cooled and solidified to stabilize the dusts.
