Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the interface adhesiveness of a photoconductive layer and aluminum by forming an aluminum oxide film on an aluminum substrate and providing the photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:A film of bochmite (Al.O.OH), alpha-, beta-, gamma- or delta-Al2O3, alpha- or beta- Al2O3.H2O, alpha- or beta-Al2O3.3H2O is formed at about 1,000Angstrom -1mum as an aluminum oxide film on the surface of an aluminum substrate, and a selenium or selenium type photoconductive layer is provided by vapor deposition thereon. The surface compsn. is made uniform by the aluminum oxide film, and the vapor deposition film having no projections is formed. This photoreceptor is good for electrophotographic processes and is free from the exfoliation of its photoconductive layer.
