Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the electrical adhesiveness between the photoconductive layer and substrate by providing a soot form vapor deposition metal layer between the photoconductive layer containing photoconductor in binder and the substrate.
CONSTITUTION: Metal such as Te is evaporated preferably to thicknesses 0.1 to 1μ in soot form having non-metallic luster at a degree of vacuum lower and a rate of vapor deposition lower than those of the case when an ordinary vapor deposition metal layer is formed, on a suitable conductive substrate. The photoconductive layer containing photoconductor in binder is provided on this soot form vapor deposition metal layer preferably to thicknesses about 10 to 50μ.
