Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent generation of shearing frictional stress at the time of pulling out a compression formed pulverulent body and prevent occurrence of cracking and breakage of the formed body by splitting a die assembly in radial direction and sliding a ring member on the die assembly through a tapered face. CONSTITUTION:In compression forming of pulverulent body, a die assembly 14 is divided into plural parts in radial direction along the outer circumference, and a split ring 14b is fitted to the side of outer circumference of the split die body 14a. The ring member 13 is pulled downward by operating a hydraulic cylinder 21 and radial face pressure greater than that operating when pressing the pulverulent body is applied on the outer circumference of the die assembly 14 through the tapered face. Powder feeding and mass cutting are made under this condition, and the pulverulent body is compressed by lowering an upper punch 11. When the stopper 22 comes into contact with the upper face of the ring member 13, the upper punch 11 goes up and restraining force that has been applied to the die assembly 14 is released. Accordingly, the formed body can easily be pulled out without undergoing resistance due to shearing frictional stress.
