Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor which has a carrier generation layer (CGL) of high sensitivity and a carrier transport layer (CTL) by contg. a solvent which dissolves org. pigments acting as electric charge generating agents in a dispersion of said pigments. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of dispersing org. pigments such as perlylene pigments, anthraquinone pigments or the like in an org. solvent soln. of a binder resin, a suitable amt. of a solvent dissoving the pigments added, whereby CGL forming paint is prepd. This paint is coated on a substrate and is dried, whereby a CGL 2 is formed. Next, a CTL 3 contg. a charge transfer material (chloroallyl, etc., or highly polymerized matter of these) together with a binder is formed on the CGL 2. By the addition of the solvent for the CG material to the coating soln. for CGL, the CG material is finely dispersed in the crystal state and the efficiency of carrier generation is improved. In this way, the photoreceptor of high sensitivity and good durability is obtained.
