Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve charge-discharge performance by adding crown compounds into non-aqueous electrolyte in a secondary battery where lithium is used as a negative active material. CONSTITUTION:A secondary battery is formed, using lithium as a negative active material and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The non-aqueous electrolyte is formed by dissolving lithium salts (for example, LiClO4) into organic solvents (for example, propylene carbonate and dimethyl sulfoxide). Crown compounds are added as an additive into the non-aqueous electrolyte. Crown compounds such as 12-crown-4,12-crown-5 etc. are used.
