Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the charging and discharging characteristic and the reliability by using a lithium-lead alloy containing lead which exceeds predetermined value as a cathode. CONSTITUTION:A cathode 4 is provided in a cathode can 1, and an anode 5 made of MnO2 or the like and a separator 6 are also provided in an anode can 2. The cathode can 1 is enclosed and sealed in the anode can 2 through a gasket 3, and a nonaqueous electrolyte made by dissolving LiClO4 in an organic solvent, e.g., propylene carbonate, etc., as an electrolyte is used to make up a secondary cell. A Li-Pb alloy is used as the cathode 4 of this secondary cell, and the content of Pb(lead) shall be 10 percent or more. By the way, this content is most effective at about 80 percent.
