Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve charge-discharge performance by using a mixture of propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate as an organic solvent of a nonaqueous electrolyte in a secondary battery using lithium as its negative active material. CONSTITUTION:Lithium acting as a negatie active material, metal oxide such as V2O5 acting as a positive active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte obtained by dissolving a lithium salt, for example lithium perchlorate, in an organic solvent are used to form a secondary battery. A mixed solvent obtaind by mixing propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate (1:6 or less mixed molar ratio is preferable) is used as an organic solvent of this nonaqueous electrolyte.
