Abstract

1522218 Secondary cells having organic electrolytes EXXON RESEARCH & ENG CO 22 April 1976 [9 May 1975] 16352/76 Heading H1B A secondary cell having an alkali metal, e.g. Li, Li-Al, Na or K anode, and a Ti, Ta or Nb dichalcogenide cathode-active material, has an electrolyte of cathode material dissolved in dioxolane. The active material may be the disulphide, perchlorate, hexafluoro phosphate hexafluoroarsenate, tetrafluoroborate. The electrolyte may also contain diluents, e.g. dimethoxyethane, propylene carbonate, tetrahydrofuran, and furan or polymerization inhibitors, e.g. dimethylisoxazole, triethyl phosphite or triethyl amine.
