Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate an effect of the multiplex reflection although the transmission repeating frequency is increased, by carrying out a subtraction with a subtractor for the received echo signals obtained from two probes and a receiving part and then extracting only the defective echo signal. CONSTITUTION:A transmitting part 2 is driven to give the vibration to two probes 4 and 3, and thus the ultrasonic waves are radiated to a material 15 to be inspected and put into the water 13 in a container 12 as well as to a healthy component 14 which has the same material and the same form as the material 15. The ultrasonic waves reflected from each part of both materials 15 and 14 are made incident to the probes 3 and 4, and the echo signals are transmitted to receiving parts 6 and 5 respectively. Both parts 5 and 6 are controlled to have the equivalent sensitivity. The output signals of the parts 5 and 6 are supplied to a subtractor 7 at one time to perform a subtraction. As a result, the echo signals given from the healthy parts of both components 14 and 15, the echo signals caused by the multiplex reflection and the noise signals are all erased. Thus only the defective echo signal of the material 15 emerges to be displayed at a CRT display part 11.
