Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily obtain a substrate having a stuck metallic oxide film of a prescribed shape by coating part of a metallic oxide film of Fe oxide or the like stuck to a substrate with a synthetic resin sheet and treating the film with a heated aqueous acid soln.
CONSTITUTION: To provide electric conductivity, chromatic, decorative and mirror effects, etc. to a substrate of glass or the like a film of ≥1 kind of metallic oxide selected from Fe, Cr, Co, Ti, Cu, Ni, Mn, Zn, In, Al, V, Mo and W oxides or said metallic oxide and ≤20wt% SnO is stuck to the substrate, and the desired part of the film is coated with an acid-proof synthetic resin sheet of vinyl chloride resin or the like using a thermoplastic resin such as polyvinyl alcohol or a thermosetting resin such as phenol resin as an adhesive. The film is then treated with a ≥4wt% aqueous soln. of ≥1 kind of acid selected from sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and phosphoric acid or a mixture of said soln. with other acid soln. at ≥80°C to dissolve and remove the uncoated part of the film. Then, a metallic oxide film of the desired shape is obtd.
