Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress the blooming phenomenon and to achieve and excellent reproduced picture, by adding a diffusion layer connected to a power supply and a control gate to the titled device. CONSTITUTION:A diffusion layer 24 connected to a power supply 23 corresponding to the end of a vertical signal line 2, and a control gate between the layer 24 and the line 2, are provided. The potential of the power supply 23 is set greater than that of the line 2 reset with the transfer gate 7. Before the signal charge is transferred to the line 2, the control gate 25 turns to on-level and the potential of the line 2 is set to the potential of the power supply 23. A part of charges is transferred from the line 2 to a charge absorption mechanism consisting of a sink control 14 and a sink drain 15. Thus, the line 2 and a connecting point 5 are at constant potential, allowing to suppress the blooming phenomenon. Thus, an excellent reproduced picture is achieved.
