Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a developer to enhance the developing capability, by coating an oil repellent on an electrode face brought into contact with the developer to reduce the quantity of unstable-polarity components in a toner which is dispersed again. CONSTITUTION:A developer is stored in a tank 21 and is drawn up by a pump 22 and is supplied to parts, which face close to each other, of a developing electrode 23 and the circumferential face of a photoreceptor 1. The supplied developer makes an electrostatic latent image on the circumferential face of the photoreceptor visible while flowing in a developing part. The face of the electrode 23 which is brought into contact with the developer is coated with an oil repellent layer 23A, and the developer and this electrode face are not brought into contact with each other directly. The contact angle between the dispersion medium as a mother liquor of the developer and the electrode 23 is several ten times in comparison with the case wherein this layer 23A is not coated. As the result, even if a toner is stuck to the electrode 23 by the influence of a developing bias voltage, the toner is removed effectively.
