Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently remove gas contained in molten metal in a melting vessel without making the size of an apparatus larger by attaching a pump for carrying the metal to at least one of molten metal feeding and returning pipes attached to a vessel for treating the metal under reduced pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The lower end of a feeding pipe 16 is immersed in molten metal 11 such as molten solder, Al or Sn in a ladle 12, and a vessel 13 for treating the metal 11 under reduced pressure is evacuated from an evacuating pipe 15 to suck the metal 11 into the vessel 13 through the pipe 16 and a returning pipe 17. By driving a pump 18 for carrying the metal 11, the metal 11 is successively treated under reduced pressure in the vessel 13 while circulating through the route of the pipe 16→ the vessel 13→ the pipe 17→ the ladle 12→ the pipe 16. Since the metal 11 is forced to be carried with the pump 18, the whole metal 11 is uniformly treated under reduced pressure in a short time.
