Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve thermal efficiency decreasing the back pressure of an engine by providing a heat exchanger which utilizes exhaust gas in an air passage that connects a compressor and the nozzle of an ejector provided on an engine exhaust pipe. CONSTITUTION:An ejector 6 is mounted on an exhaust pipe 5 of an engine body 1. A nozzle 8 connects with a compressor 12 via an air passage 11. At the midway of the air passage 11, a heat exchanger 15 which utilizes exhaust gas is provided covering the periphery of the air passage connecting with the exhaust pipe 5. The ejector effect of the ejector 6 creates negative pressure in a negative pressure chamber 7 and at the exhaust port 4, decreasing the back pressure of the engine. Rise of the air temperature due to the heat exchanger 15 works with the ejector effect to further decrease the back pressure. Heat efficiency and fuel consumption are thus improved.
