Abstract

The heat engine consists of a cylinder (1) with a piston (2) connected to the crank (3) of the crankshaft. The cylinder head (5) is provided with an outlet valve (8) and an inlet valve (9). The upward movement of the piston compresses the air and drives it through the valve (8) to the external combustion chamber (12). The fuel burnt in the combustion chamber (12) heats the air and the hot gases, then divide into two streams. One stream flows through the duct (13) drives the turbine (14). The other stream returns via the duct (11) and flows through the valve (9) to expand in the cylinder (1) and drive the crankshaft. The cylinder (1) is connected to a number of similar cylinders by the ducts.
