Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce injurious components in the exhaust gas and save the fuel cost by operating the engine with a continuous self-ignition combustion on keeping the stable state of activated thermal atmosphere required for the self-ignition up to the last stage compression stroke of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: The cylinder 9, 10 and crank 11, 12 chambers are partitioned by containing the pistons 7, 8 in the respective bores 5, 6 of two engine cases 1, 1, the mixed gas supply ports 20, 21, air supply ports 22, 23, which open earlier than the ports 20, 21, and exhaust ports 24, 25 are provided. The mixed gas inhaled into the crank chamber 11 through the air chamber 31 and carburetor 32 is compressed, led to the said ports 20, 21 through the control valve 28 and passages 27, 26, and is jetted into the cylinder chambers 9, 10.
