Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a uniform thin anticorrosive film with superior adhesion on the inside of a condensing pipe in a short time by coating the inside of the pipe with an acidic soln. contg. fine iron powder by means of an airless spray and by blowing wet air.
CONSTITUTION: To an acidic soln. such as about 0.1W2.0N hydrochloric acid is added 100W5,000g/l iron powder having ≤10μm average grain size, and the inner wall of a condensing pipe 1 made of copper alloy is coated thinly and uniformly with the acidic soln. contg. the iron powder by drawing a feed pipe 4 in the arrow direction while spraying the soln. from the nozzle 2 of an airless spray. Wet air is then blown into the pipe 1 by about 20mlW50l/min.inϕ to expose the coated surface to an oxidizing gaseous atmosphere. Thus, an anticorrosive iron oxide film is formed. By blowing air into the acidic soln. contg. the iron powder prior to coating so as to make the powder fine and to partially convert it into colloid or by adding about 20W70wt% water soluble org. solvent having smaller surface tension than water, e.g., methanol so as to reduce the surface tension of the acidic soln., the formation of a uniformly coated thin film is further facilitated.
