CONSTITUTION:A tuning fork type oscillator having a flectional oscillation is cut out of a quartz plate which turns in a range of -15 deg.-+5 deg. around an electric axis (x) in a quartz crystal. The top temperature of the frequency temperature characteristics varies by changing the W/L (W, L: width and length of arm of tuning fork respectively). Accordingly a quartz oscillator having good temperature characteristics at a room temperature is obtained in a range of W/ L>=0.13. An electrode structure in which the series resistance can be reduced by 20-30% compared with a basic wave by using a higher harmonic flectional oscillation as an oscillation mode. Thus the oscillation can be easily obtained.
