Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled fluorescent lamp emitting green light that is made by forming first a specific transparent and electrically conductive coating on the inner surface of a glass tube and coating the resultant surface with a specifically composed divalent metal borate fluorescent substance activated with Ce and Tb, thus showing reduced yellowing and blackening and keeping luminescent flux at a high level.
CONSTITUTION: First, a transparent and electrically conductive coating of 0.11W 0.80kΩ/cm resistivity is formed on the inner surface of a glass tube. Then, the resultant surface is coated with a divalent metal borate fluorescent substance activated with Ce and Tb that is prepared by mixing a boron compound readily convertible into its oxide at elevated temperature such as H3BO3, a magnesium compound such as MgO, a cerium compound such as CeO2 and a terbium compound such as CeO2 and a terbium compound such as Tb4O7, precalcining them at 400W800°C and calcining in a reductive atmosphere at 800W1,100°C, thus having the composition of the formula (MIis Mg, Be, Zn, Cd; M II is Ca, Sr, Ba; 0<a≤2.0; 0<x≤0.25; 0<y≤0.4; 0.0001≤z≤0.4).
